Summary

Design a new, public facing, Microsoft SharePoint site for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Details

This project was the result of a massive document reorganization effort on the part of NCDOT.

During this reorganization, it was recognized that NCDOT needed a central location to store documents for its private industry business partners. This website features thousands of documents for download as well as private Team Sites for hundreds of projects.

A full redesign and backend update for Correction Enterprises, a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Details

The challenge was to design an interactive product catalog featuring thousands of items that also included a user-friendly ordering system.

This was accomplished using custom page templates, product categories and a dynamically updated database.

Initially a companion site to the Planet Barfly properties, Little Pink Umbrella now encompassess over 9,000 drink recipes (including suggestions from the community).

Details

The main goal of this project was to update the visual style of the NCDMV website to closer match the main NCDOT web presence.

Additionally, the content was re-written and XML was used to make updating information (i.e.: DMV Fees & Forms) easier for website editors.

Details

The interface lets a visitor search Inspection Stations by county, city or zip code. It displays the results either in an alphabetical list or on a map.

Converted the supplied design to an HTML template using ASP.net masterpages and CSS.

Website developed using static content, content from third party sites, weather information from Yahoo! and news posts from Blogger.

During the conference, the website home page was updated to include an agenda with real-time updates and a photo gallery integrated with Flickr.

Summary

Design & develop the front end interface of an established online service.

Details

The challenge was to update the visual style of an established online service offered by the NCDMV. The goal was to streamline the duplicate drivers license process by making it simpler and faster for North Carolina citizens.

The new design provides a progress indicator, larger form fields, and an overall reduction in the total number of screens. Additionally, the visual style is now consistant with the main NCDOT website.

Details

Develop a flexible, CSS-based template that provides developers a solid foundation on which they can build their applications.

The CSS-based template is written in ASP.net and utilizes the MVC design pattern. The template establishes a consistant, site-wide visual style, and includes various user interface components.

Any application developed using the CSS-based template will feature a responsive front end interface which can easily be customized to meet the needs of a specific project.

Project: NCDOT Bicycle & Pedestrian Transportation Division, "Let's Go NC!"

Summary

Build an installable, offline website, featuring videos, and downloadable forms.

Details

Upgrade the existing "Let's Go NC!" website and develop a standalone version of the website with offline capabilities.

The online version features YouTube integration for video playback.

The offline version includes .mp4 videos and downloadable .pdf documents. This version can be installed on a computer via a USB device or DVD.
