About

J. P. Streich is a designer for the State of North Carolina. Streich also co-founded Planet Barfly, a network of local, nightlife sites.

My skillset is that of a web generalist. I have been creating web sites since 1999 and take pride in building projects that load quickly (and look great) on all web capable devices. I write HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I prefer using PHP on the server, Cordova for mobile apps & Perch for content management.

Work History

I have 20 years experience building web sites for small-to-medium size businesses and, most recently, large government agencies. This includes the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NC DIT), the Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV), the Highway Engineering Exchange Program (HEEP) and the Department of Transportation (NCDOT). I have completed the "Legacy Leadership" management training program offered by NCDOT. Also, I have represented North Carolina at the I-95 Corridor Coalition and at the NC Open Data conference.

Previously, I created sites for SASHTO, the TransComm annual meeting and the Correction Enterprises division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (this specific project was featured by the National Correctional Industries Association in their quarterly magazine).

Before accepting a position with the State of North Carolina, I worked for web development companies on both coasts handling responsibilities in full-time and freelance capacities.

Recent Projects

Working for the State of North Carolina, I have had the pleasure of building high profile web sites for the Department of Information Technology, the Department of Transportation, the Division of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Public Safety.

Payments Accepted

Once upon a time, a person much smarter than I said, “Make it easy for folks to give you their money.”

You can pay your invoice via cashier’s check, money order or via the web services Cash.me or Venmo. Please make sure to include your invoice number in the Notes field of whichever method you choose.

Please submit any questions about payments or invoices to payment@jpstreich.com.

Terms of Payment

If we are doing business together, you should be familiar with the Terms of Payment. For those thinking about reaching out regarding a freelance project, please note that payment is due within 30 days of you receiving your invoice (this is known as Net 30). Also, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total project estimate is due before work will begin.

Transfer of Intellectual Property

All files, digital and otherwise, created over the course of a project remain my intellectual property. In addition, I retain the copyright for any files, images and documents I create over the duration of the project.

The legal transfer of intellectual property and copyright for a project (from me, Designer, to you, Client) will occur once all outstanding invoices for your project have been paid.
